Reverend Angie Stupple

Reverend Angie Stupple

Angie was born and grew up in Ireland, in a small town called Athy, which is about 50 miles south of Dublin. Her faith was nurtured in the Catholic Church.

Angie first came to Dover aged 18 and hasn't looked back! She first visited St Mary’s church when a friend invited her to join her at the Christmas morning service many years ago. When she walked through the door and it immediately felt like she had ‘come home’.

A period of interregnum at St Mary's brought about a huge turning point and offered many opportunities.  As a result, Angie became a server, led some non-eucharistic services and engaged in home groups and pastoral care. She went on to train to become a Reader and eventually went through the discernment process for ordination. Angie was deaconed in September 2020 and ordained a year later.

Angie currently focuses on Hospice Chaplaincy at Pilgrims Hospice, Canterbury. She has PTO status (permission to officiate) and presides in churches in the Dover Town Benefice and wider local area.

Planning your Visit

Service times at
St Mary's, Dover

We extend a very warm welcome to you to come and join us for one of our services.

If you like (or want to discover more about) traditional Anglican music and worship, then St Mary's is the place for you. In the first chapter of the gospel of John, the apostle Philip says to Nathaniel, "Come and See", and that is the simple invitation we offer to you today.

Sunday worship:

  • On the first, third, fourth and fifth Sundays of every month, we have a sung Eucharist service, led by our Clergy and robed choir. This service starts at 10.45am and lasts about an hour.
  • On the second Sunday of every month, we have a Sung Matins service, led by our Clergy and robed choir. This also starts at 10:45am.
  • All our Sunday services are followed by coffee in the Parish Centre.

Choral evensong:

  • On the fourth Sunday of the month, we have a traditional choral evensong service (except for April, August and December). This service starts at 6:00pm and lasts about an hour. We also host an evensong and supper on a quarterly basis and everyone is invited to join us for supper after the service (donations towards the supper are gratefully received).

Wednesday worship:

  • Every Wednesday, we have a short Holy Communion service at 10am lasting for 30 minutes. This is followed by coffee in the Parish Centre.

Our forthcoming services are also updated at 'A Church Near You'
